Robot tracking and human presence monitoring

This project was started at the Kinect Hackathon in Austin, TX in February 2015 (http://www.nuicentral.com/events/nui-central-kinect-windows-hackathon-au...). Unfortunately, a mechanical problem prevented to complete it within the Hackathon. The application consists in using colors within the clouds of points from the Kinect to track a robot, an object, and a basket. The application is able to make the robot pick up the object and put it in the basket wherever the object and the basket are within the robot operating zone. The applications detects if the object or the basket are outside the operating zone, and will not start the process until the situation is corrected. Additionally, the application monitors the presence of a human, and if the human is in the robot operating zone. If no human is present, or if the human is within the robot operating zone, the robot operations are stopped. Once started, the application runs independently from human interaction.
